I always want what I don´t have it´s such a strange desire and I can´t feel fine If I love you and you love me we´d be almost happy, always having fun in our car If we can't wait for long time won't be on our side If we believe in what we do we will be the winners we will win the champinship cup And all I see I cannot reach it´s such a strange desire and I can´t feel fine What I´ve become is what I am it´s such a strange way of life and I wanna feel fine again
2.
This is just what I call ecstasy this is just what you call peace Spending all night long by your side staring at the moon and the sky sharing all my feelings with you now that all our dreams will come true... will come true they´ll come true they´ll come true, despite what others say no need to act like we´re supposed to and I´m trying to say: no! no need to do what we´re supposed to but, maybe in the end we´ll go back to where we´re from and now, we could be waiting for the sun rising on the horizon This is just what I call ecstasy this is just what you call peace
3.
Hi Today, Tomorrow´s far away and we cannot wait for long and we cannot even stay Hi Mr. Time, show us what you hide and we will not be late and we won´t waste the days Well, we try, to have a real good time if you come around tonight if you really enjoy the show And what we really miss (is) the sunshine of our dreams that someday in the end will come true We are alive, sometimes we don´t realize but life is worth, you say we could have a chance again We can smile, we could even fly but heaven´s far away there are lots of things to say This is our land, always sunny in the dark but this is where we´re from you should really come This is our song, and this is what we love and I hope you get some fun and I hope you enjoy the show
4.
Let me stare at the wall for a while I'm thinking of things that you said I get older but things don't get clearer You can hold me to ransom I won't even know And as we go marching to wisdom you're teaching me things even now But there's something in the way I can't complain I was given time to leave things as they were just walk away But there's something that you do to me Something you do all the time - something that passes the time Something you do to me Something you do all the time - something that passes your time (It´s) just there's something that you do to me Something you do all the time - something that passes the time Something you do to me Something you do all the time - something that passes your time Something you do to me Something you do all the time - something that passes your time
5.
I am here up on the stage, and you´re down there trying to have some fun I can´t hear what you´re saying, there´s too much noise in this rainy night And I miss you, I love you, I need you, I want to be with you and I see you, I call you, I smile... I want to be with you, I want to stay with you Now I´m here and I can´t see you, where are you? out of my sight I looked for you, I found your clothes, I called you but you were gone And I miss you, I love you, I need you, and the world without you is so small and I see you, I call you, I smile... and the world without you is a hole... (it´s a waste of time)
6.
Mr. Sand meets Mrs. Sea All the fishes singing: "hey" July, first weekend All the cows, the lazy sheep Come to see them on the beach Mr. Sand and Mrs. Sea they´re happy on the beach Mr. Sand goes with the wind Looking for a place to live He wishes: "near the beach" Mrs. Sea is blue and green Living in the ocean and she wishes: "on the beach" happy on the beach

about

First release on the Clifford Records label, a 10'' vinyl mini-lp including 5 songs and a Monograph cover

[ENGLISH PRESS RELEASE]

“The Championship Cup” [clifford001LP] is the long-awaited comeback by The Yellow Melodies, from Murcia (Spain). After a long time since their leader Rafa Skam has been involved in other projects -his huge fanzine ‘El Planeta Amarillo’, playing guitar in Vacaciones [Elefant Records]; photographer at music festivals; tour promoter, and so on), he has now decided to reactivate his all time band, the one that reflects best his musical influences.

So here they are again The Yellow Melodies, with Rafa Skam and Pilar Aparisi, as well as the new guys Jesús González and Jaime Belmonte, as they come back to present their fourth record, “The Championship Cup”, with a lot of of enthusiasm and savoir-faire; this mini-album has a gorgeous production, and it is full of beautiful arrangements. It shows this band’s talents throughout this mini-lp in a 10 inch vinyl, that will satisfy the sunshine pop and 60’s psychedelia lovers as well as classic and contemporary british pop fans.

The mini-lp is released exclusively on vinyl, as a gift for those who love appreciating pop in its natural state. The record features 6 songs; two of them already have a videoclip: “The Championship Cup”, directed by Martin Ellerbeck, and “Mr. Sand and Mrs. Sea”, by Faustino Fdez. Both of them can be seen at The Yellow Melodies and Clifford Records’ websites and MySpaces.

“The Championship Cup” is just a starter because the band are in the studio again recording their new album which is going to come out in 2009, but that is another story!
